How long does it take to drive the Cabot Trail from Halifax?
Cape Breton Highlands National Park is about 5 hours' drive from Halifax, and the Cabot Trail loop runs for nearly 300 km. Allow two or three days to enjoy it. The park's reservable campgrounds are Chéticamp, Mkwesaqtuk/Cap-Rouge, Broad Cove and Ingonish Beach, booked through Parks Canada, with smaller first-come, first-served sites elsewhere. What are good day trips from Halifax in an RV?
Peggy's Cove is about 43 km south-west of Halifax, around 45 minutes along Route 333. Kejimkujik National Park is about 170 km away, roughly two hours, with camping from May to October at the inland park. Both fit into a loop of the South Shore. See Kejimkujik visitor information.
Can I take an RV on the ferry to Newfoundland from Nova Scotia?
Marine Atlantic's year-round route from North Sydney to Port aux Basques takes about 7 hours. Vehicle space and cabins sell out well ahead for summer sailings, so reserve as early as possible and arrive at the terminal at least 2 hours before departure.
