RV rental Kelowna — FAQs
Where can I pick up an RV near Kelowna?
Owners list vehicles across Kelowna and the central Okanagan valley. A 20–35 mile radius in the search shows the full choice.
Can I have a campfire near Kelowna?
Not inside the City of Kelowna: campfires and wood-burning fire pits are not permitted at any time within city limits, though certified propane fire tables are allowed. Neighbouring areas such as West Kelowna and Lake Country allow Category 1 campfires only when no ban is in force. Bans are common in summer (in 2026 one ran from 10 July to 3 September). Check the BC Wildfire Service and your campground's rules before lighting a fire.
Is there a provincial park campground near Kelowna?
Okanagan Lake Provincial Park is on Highway 97, 11 km north of Summerland, on the lake's western shore south of Kelowna. It has two large campgrounds, north and south, with lake views, and sites can be reserved through BC Parks. It is popular in summer, so book as early as your dates allow. See Okanagan Lake Provincial Park.
How long is the drive from Kelowna to Vancouver in an RV?
It is about 390 km and 4 to 5 hours by Highway 97C and the Coquihalla (Highway 5), allowing for a slower RV. The Coquihalla crosses high mountain terrain, and winter tyres (M+S or mountain snowflake) are required on it from 1 October to 30 April; chains on summer tyres are not a legal substitute. Check DriveBC for closures before you go, especially in snow.
