Old Montreal‘s cobblestone streets are one of the best-preserved historic quarters in North America, with the Notre-Dame Basilica — built in the 1820s, nearly a million visitors a year — its centrepiece. Mount Royal Park, designed around the hill the city is named for, has the Kondiaronk Belvedere lookout for a panoramic view over downtown and the St Lawrence River before you set off. Jean-Talon Market, one of North America’s largest open-air markets, is a good stop for stocking the RV’s kitchen with produce and local specialities.

RV rental Montreal — FAQs
Where can I pick up an RV near Montreal?
Owners list vehicles across Montreal and into the wider Quebec region. A 20–35 mile radius in the search shows the full choice.
Can I take an RV with propane through Montreal's tunnels?
Quebec's transport ministry limits propane to two 46-litre cylinders in the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine, Ville-Marie and Viger tunnels, and recommends closing propane valves before entering. Penalties apply to breaches. Ask your rental company how much propane the RV carries and avoid the tunnels if unsure. See the Quebec government rules.
Do winter tyres apply to RV rentals in Quebec?
From 1 December to 15 March, vehicles registered in Quebec must have winter tyres, including rental passenger vehicles. The rule does not apply to vehicles registered outside Quebec, and some heavy vehicles are exempt. Rules for motorhomes depend on registration and class, so ask the rental company how your RV is covered if you travel in that period. See Quebec winter tyre rules.
How far is Mont-Tremblant National Park from Montreal?
Mont-Tremblant National Park is about 140 km north of Montreal, and the La Diable sector is around 2 hours away by road. Sépaq runs the park's campgrounds, which you reserve through Sépaq. Check which campgrounds accept RVs and what length they allow before you book. Summer and autumn colours weekends are busy, so reserve early. See Quebec for more routes.
