RV, Motorhome and Camper Van Rental in Jackson Hole
The choice runs from compact camper vans that are easy to park around Jackson’s Town Square to full-size Class A motorhomes with a kitchen, bathroom and slide-outs. A camper van or smaller travel trailer suits the tighter pullouts and wildlife-viewing turnouts inside Grand Teton and Yellowstone; a larger motorhome is fine on US-89/191, the main corridor linking Jackson to both parks. Summer is genuinely busy here, and campground and park entry queues both build fast, so a smaller, more flexible rig has real advantages.
Rental cost depends mainly on vehicle class, season and rental length — a camper van is consistently the cheaper option, a Class A or large travel trailer the most expensive, and per-night rates usually drop the longer you book. Peak summer (July–August) pushes demand and prices up sharply; enter your dates above for a live quote rather than a generic average.

Things to see near your Jackson Hole pickup
Jackson’s Town Square, marked by its four elk-antler arches, is the classic starting point — galleries, outfitters and the annual Elk Antler Auction each May. The National Elk Refuge borders both the town and Grand Teton, with sleigh rides among thousands of wintering elk from December through early spring. Inside Grand Teton National Park, Jenny Lake is the hub for kayaking and the roughly 5-mile round trip hike to Hidden Falls, and Snake River float trips run from gentle scenic floats to whitewater sections. Ready for wildlife: roughly 700 grizzly bears and several hundred black bears live across the wider Jackson Hole–Grand Teton–Yellowstone ecosystem.
Best road trips from Jackson Hole

- Yellowstone National Park — about 2 hours north via US-89/191 through Grand Teton. Geysers, hot springs and the largest concentration of wildlife in the Lower 48; allow at least 2–3 days.

Wildlife and driving safety around Jackson Hole
Bear spray is standard equipment here, not a novelty — both parks recommend carrying it and know how to use it before setting out on any trail. “Wildlife jams,” where traffic stops for bison, elk or bears near the road, are a routine part of driving through both parks in summer; slow down, stay in your vehicle unless a ranger says otherwise, and never approach for a photo — the required distance is 100 yards from bears and wolves, 25 yards from everything else. Mountain weather changes fast at this elevation (Jackson sits around 6,200 feet, with park roads higher still) and snow is possible even in summer months at higher elevations; some park roads close seasonally and reopen only once snow allows, typically not until May.
When to travel
July and August are peak season, warm and busy with wildlife-jam traffic and full campgrounds — book well ahead. June and September offer a good balance of open roads and thinner crowds, though some high-elevation trails and roads may still be snow-affected in early June. Winter access is limited and largely oriented around skiing rather than RV travel; most area campgrounds close for the season.
