Everyone will smile at you in our 1970’s VW Camper. Mr. Blue Sky is ready for you to hire for a day, a weekend or longer. Go camping and not worry about the rain! Move on every day without spending ages pitching a tent! You carry everything that you need in a camper.

We have had some great adventures in our camper and now we hope that you will too.

What is in the bus?
Our camper can sleep two adults and up to three children, with the children sleeping in the roof. There is a four-burner hob with a grill underneath for toast. We also supply a cool box. There are also plenty of items to cook with and to eat off, although you can of course just go to the pub.

The camper has electric hook up which means that everything can still be powered at a campsite. Should you travel further afield then there is also a leisure battery, which can power electrical items without running the engine.

For a small additional charge you can hire our drive-away awning, which you can use to sleep in, put stuff in or just mark out your pitch whilst you go exploring.

Up front there is seating for three (all with seatbelts of course) and a stereo, which you can connect your iPod to for great music either when you are on the move or at a site. In the back is further seating for two, and this seat converts to a bed when you stop for the night.

What Else?
All that you need to bring is a sleeping bag, toiletries and some clothes.

You can explore the beautiful South of England, at your own pace, and whatever way you choose. Our camper does not come with any mileage restrictions, but if you only want to do a few miles then that’s fine too. Just book with us and look forward to a fantastic journey.

Plus the economical 2.0 litre diesel engines return an excellent 35+ MPG. All of our campervans come fully equipped (excluding bedding) with everything that is need to enjoy your adventures.

Relaxing
Once stopped the front seats swivel to create extra living and seating space in the rear. With the roof put up there’s ample standing space inside the vehicle and with additional of an out side awning (if required) means that you can relax in comfort

Dining
With a fridge to keep the essentials cool, sink and double burner gas hob there is plenty of scope for cooking simple scrumptious meals from the local produce you discover on your journey. We also provide pots, pans, crockery, and cutlery

Sleeping
The campers have 2 x double beds for sleeping, a lower one (1920x1310mm) which the rear seat quickly and easily converts into and one upper (1900x1100mm) which is located in the elevating roof.

About Daffy
Daffy is a bright yellow Type 2 1975 Devon Pop Top VW Camper Van with lots of personality, he is fun to drive but does need a little bit of practice as he is quite a bit different from modern cars in a couple of ways!

We will give you a demo at the time of handover which is why we suggest you allow approximately an hour for this part of the hire.
Daffy can seat a maximum of four people including the driver, two in front seats and two on the bench-style rear seat, and we ask that you do not exceed this number as it will negate the insurance policy, and break the law as there are only 4 seatbelts anyway!

The demo will also talk you through all Daffy’s features, such as:

Sleeping:
Daffy has a ¾ Rock’n’Roll bed which is ‘van-speak’ for a small double in the main compartment, and can accommodate either two children/small adults in a double bed in the pop top, or, two hammocks on request.
Two Adults can comfortably sleep in ‘upstairs’ top but Daffy is a Pop-Top and not a high rise so its very friendly!
Alternatively, we can supply an inflatable double mattress for use in the awning…(this will incur extra charge.)
There is a small storage cupboard for the bedding, and for food but please be aware that space is at a premium in these vans so pack light!

Daffy has a roof-rack which can hold the awning bag and another small bag but we ask that nothing is left there when the van is unattended.

Eating:
Daffy has a lovely new fridge which whilst compact, can hold full a good amount and can even make you ice-cubes! He has a two hob gas burner and a grill; we will make sure you have a spare gas bottle should you run out whilst you are away. Daffy has a ‘fitted kitchen’! Its compact and bijou with all the utensils you will need, most of them as colourful as Daffy! He also has a ‘buddy’ seat which is great for sitting on to cook that wonderful camping cuisine! He also carries a few books to inspire you along the way!

Living:
The Awning is not difficult to erect, especially if you have ever put up a modern tent but will probably take approximately 30 minutes the first time. It is based on a system of bendy hoop-like rods, which will give you a large spacious living area and can be used to bbq in with care.

Daffy has a lovely new interior table which bolts into the floor and can be left erected whilst travelling, or, can be converted to an out-doors camping table.
